Stephen Humeston is a bass–baritone from Rhode Island who currently lives in Boston and performs throughout the New England.
Stephen completed his undergraduate degree in vocal performance at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts in 2006 and has since appeared in various solo and ensemble engagements in opera, musical theater, historical interpretation, television, and classical chamber music.
Stephen’s musical stage roles include Sarastro in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” with MetroWest Opera and Dr. Carrasco in “The Man of La Mancha” with Commonwealth Opera. He has also been featured as a soloist for oratorio works including Mozart’s “Coronation Mass“, Bach’s Cantata “Wachet auf” (BWV 140), and Mendelssohn’s “Elijah“.
Stephen was most recently heard in Eric Whitacre’s New York debut of “Paradise Lost” at Carnegie Hall in May 2010. He is a founding member of the chamber chorale Lyricora and regularly serves as a chanter in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
