Maria Lyudko 186x280 Maria Lyudko, sopranoMs. Lyudko graduated from the Rimsky–Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory with honors majoring in musicology and voice.

She received further training at the International Bach Academy in Stuttgart and at the Mariinsky Theater’s Academy of Young Opera Singers. She participated in master classes given by many acclaimed Russian and European singers. Since 1996, Ms. Lyudko has taught at the Rimsky–Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory; since 2005 she has chaired the division teaching Solfeggio and Methods of Hearing Skills Development.

She teaches solo singing for the Music Department of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. She is the author of numerous publications, articles, manuals, curriculums and gives master classes. She is the winner of eight Russian-national and international competitions. She is a consistent participant in prestigious international musical festivals and judges a host of international vocal competitions.

She actively performs many concerts in Russia, the USA, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Estonia, Croatia; she participates in theater productions of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Komische Oper Berlin, and theaters of Russia, Germany, and Holland. She performs on radio and TV; she has participated in the recording of numerous compact discs, a film soundtrack, and has recorded three solo albums.

She is a member of the Union of Concert Performers of Russia and a delegate of the St. Petersburg branch operations committee. She is the secretary of the Philharmonic Arts section. In 2008, she was awarded the honorary title “Meritorious Artist of the Russian Federation” and in 2011, she successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation.
